Last 8 years of my life had been spent in learning languages of machines.. C, C++, Java, etc.. Few of such languages are long dead and some of these, I’m sure, will die too, eventually. Do I put them to use now? No. May be in future, yes. How I wish I had spent those years also in learning the languages of people! Languages that are ever alive!I know Tamil well enough to understand Thirukural. Like tasting the tip of an iceberg. I feel so since I never understand the depths and dimensions of feelings that our other native languages evoke and something which will be lost in translation. I am happy to have started learning Kannada.. A small step ahead towards achieving my wish of becoming a polyglot!
